ITI UGANDA AT THE ANNUAL ROTARY CANCER RUN

Thousands of enthusiastic runners converged at the Kinyamasika Virika Grounds last Sunday (27th August) in Fort Portal, to participate in the annual Rotary Cancer Run. The cancer run was organised by the Rotary Club in Kabarole. Similar events were organised in various parts of the country by several Rotary Clubs. Overall, the events generated more than 1.1billion Uganda shillings (US$305,000) countrywide. The purpose of this year’s run was to raise money to build a bunker for the Linear Accelerator machine that was acquired last year, at the Rotary Centenary Bank Cancer Centre at Nsambya hospital. ITI Uganda staff took part in the 21km run and contributed through the Kabarole Rotary Club where the Team Leader is member.
