ITI UGANDA IS HIRING


Innovations for Transformation (ITI) is a community based Non-Governmental Organization registered in Uganda. ITI works to unlock the potential and empower disadvantaged youth and women by boosting their economic capacity and living conditions through access basic education, healthcare and alternative sources of income for sustainable livelihoods. Our ultimate purpose is to conserve biodiversity and ensure environmental sustainability, and households living around protected areas are self-sufficient and have access to basic needs, financial services and infrastructure. ITI operates in Kamwenge and Kabarole in the West, Mukono and Wakiso in Central, Kole and lira Districts in the North.



Position: Program Manager – Village Savings and Loans Association (VSLA) Program

Duty Station: Fort Portal Portfolio Office

Reports to: Team Leader

Duration: Serve a probation period of 3 months, subject to satisfactory performance, be appointed on a renewable 2 year contract.

Job Summary: The Program Manager shall deputize the Team Leader. Provide leadership in the operations, management and implementation of the VSLA program. Take lead in advancing objectives set forth for Entrepreneur Training Program. Provide technical backstopping and mentorship of Community Based Facilitators. Create database of VSLA clients. Collect weekly anecdotes of program successes. Create direct relationship with VSLA at community level through regular field visits and monitoring. Resource mobilization for the VSLA program. Support CBTs to develop work plans. Participate in the development of M&E system. Actively contribute to strategic planning and quarterly work plan development based on data collected from the M&E system.

Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized University in the following areas; Business Administration, B. Com and Social Sciences or related field.


Position: Enterprise Development Officer

Duty Station: Fort Portal Portfolio Office

Reports to: Program Manager – VSLA

Duration: Serve a probation period of 3 months, subject to satisfactory performance, be appointed on a renewable 2 year contract.

Job Summary: The Enterprise Development Officer shall provide hand-on training to Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLA) clients in enterprise development. Maintain a database of clients that have began income generating self-help projects. Provide weekly check-ins with the Team leader on progress and impact of enterprise training program at Household level. Collect and submit weekly business success stories. Create one- on- one relationship with VSLA clients through routine household training visits.

Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized University in the following areas; Business Administration, B. Com, B. Stat and Social Sciences


Position: Finance Manager

Duty Station: Fort Portal Portfolio Office

Reports to: Team Leader

Duration: A renewable 2 year contract.

Job Summary: The Finance Manager will be responsible for management of all financial resources. Utilize and follow internationally acceptable financial norms and standard accounting procedures. Ensure proper accounting for every single financial transaction. Ensure proper record management. Compile monthly and quarterly financial reports. Conduct monthly on-spot field visits to investigate financial utilization and value for money. Hold weekly check-ins with Team Leader on financial performance. Serve a secondary contact person for Kiteka Program.

Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized University in the following areas; Business Administration, B. Com, B. Stat or related field.


Position: Sponsorship and Family Strengthening Officer

Duty Station: Fort Portal Portfolio Office

Reports to: Team Leader

Duration: Serve a probation period of 3 months, subject to satisfactory performance, be appointed on a renewable 2 year contract.

Job Summary: The Sponsorship and Family Strengthening Officer will be responsible for assisting sponsored families in developing 3 year development plans. Provide mentorship, technical guidance and tailor-made trainings for each sponsored family towards poverty alleviation and self-sustenance. Visit and follow up all sponsored children at school or in their homes to provide career and purpose driven mentorship significantly leading to improved academic performance. Maintain one – one relationship with each sponsored family and child. Collect and compile quarterly family progress report to submit to sponsors. Collect and translate bi-annual family letters for each sponsored child and family. Collect and compile monthly narratives and anecdotes at household level. Ensure that school fees are paid on-time and all sponsored children have access to basic school supplies. Maintain good relationship with partner schools, Churches and communities in ensuring that sponsored children and families have necessary supportive safety nets both spiritually, economically and socially. Maintain weekly check-ins with Team Leader.

Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelors Degree from a recognized University in the following areas; Education, Business, Social Sciences, Community Development or any related field.


Position: Pastor

Duty Station: Fort Portal Portfolio Office

Reports to: Team Leader

Duration: A renewable 2 year contract.

Job Summary: The Pastor will be responsible for youth character development program. Ensure weekly visits to schools, remand homes and sponsored households for spiritual growth, counseling and guidance. Increase awareness on negative effects of drug and substance abuse. Impart morals, values and inspire parent-child communication, peer-peer education and community child concepts.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum of Advanced level of education, Certificate in Pastoral work. Possess 5 years of experience serving in similar position in any Church.


Position: Micro-Insurance Officer

Duty Station: Fort Portal Portfolio Office

Reports to: Team Leader

Duration: Serve a probation period of 3 months, subject to satisfactory performance, be appointed on a renewable 2-year contract.

Job Summary: The Micro-Insurance officer will be responsible for building good relationships with partner hospitals and other service providers. Hold monthly meetings with service providers and share any issues emerging from the field. Mobilize and train VSLA clients in micro-insurance scheme. Ensure increased enrolment of the micro-insurance program users. Guarantee smooth operations of the program and quality service delivery among service providers. Maintain weekly check-ins with the Team Leader

Minimum Qualifications: A Diploma from a recognized Institution in the following areas; Business Management, Accountancy, Marketing or any related field.


Position: Head Teacher

Duty Station: Glory Primary School - Kamwenge

Reports to: Team Leader and School Management Committee

Duration: A renewable 2-year contract.

Job Summary: The Head teacher will be responsible for day to day operations and running of the school. Ensure proper management of school property and library. Innovative and self-motivated. Build good relationship with parents and larger community. Increase school enrolment. Improve the quality of education leading to academic excellence. Act a liaison officer between the community and ITI. Ensure teacher and student welfare. Oversee school development work and sustainable income generating projects.

Minimum Qualifications: Diploma in Primary Education. Possesses 5 years of experience of teaching in a primary school. Certificate in library management, computer literacy is added advantage.


Position: School Cashier/Librarian

Duty Station: Glory Primary School - Kamwenge

Reports to: Headmaster and School Management Committee

Duration: A renewable 2-year contract.

Job Summary: The cashier will assume such roles of school fees collection. Manage funds from the school’s sustainable income generating projects including the maize mills, poultry, piggery projects etc. At the same time, ensure the school library is well managed, organized and books remain in good condition. Be able to learn and follow library management systems. Issue out, follow up and collect books from children and teachers. Maintain an inventory of all books, manuals, charts and other materials. Ensure that the children are utilizing the library.

Minimum Qualifications: Should possess any of the following qualifications; A certificate in library management, certificate in accountancy or business management. Certificate in primary education. Must be computer literate. Certificate in project management is added advantage.


Position: Cashier/ Office Administrator

Duty Station: Fort Portal

Reports to: Finance Manager

Duration: A renewable 2-year contract.

Job Summary: The cashier will be responsible for receiving cash collections and insurance premiums from micro-finance and micro-insurance members under the Financial Innovations for Poverty Action (FIPA) Program. Serve as office administrator to ensure smooth office operations and organization. Deposit all cash collections to designated project bank account. Receive or collect and review outstanding bills arising from health micro-insurance program service providers. Prepare requisitions and ensure timely payment of outstanding hospital bills. Maintain inventory of all property and equipment. Ensure that all equipment is in good condition. Maintain a good filling system and office records.

Minimum Qualifications: Should possess any of the following qualifications; A diploma in accountancy or business management. Must be computer literate. Certificate in record management or office management is added advantage.
